From First Click to Final Image: Inside Our Newborn Photography Workflow

Post 2 of Blog Series Behind the Lens- Newborn Photography Workflow

Welcome back to our 'Behind the Lens' series! Today, we're diving into the heart of our newborn photography workflow at Wildflower Portrait Studio. As a photographer, I believe that every click of the camera captures a fleeting moment of your newborn's early days—a moment you'll treasure forever.

The Pre-Session Consultation

Our journey together begins long before you step into the studio. I like to start with a pre-session consultation, either over the phone or in person. This is where we discuss your vision, any specific poses or props you have in mind, and the overall feel you'd like for your session. It's also a great time for me to answer any questions you might have about the process.

Setting the Scene

When you arrive at the studio, you'll find a warm and inviting environment designed with your baby's comfort in mind. I've got everything ready—from cozy blankets to adorable props. We'll take a few minutes to let your baby settle in, and I'll walk you through the plan for the session.

Capturing the Magic

During the session, my focus is on capturing those natural, candid moments that showcase your baby's unique personality. Here's a glimpse of what happens behind the camera:

  1. Patience and Timing: Newborns have their own schedules, and I'm here to work around them. Whether it's a quick nap or a feeding break, we go with the flow to keep your baby happy and relaxed.

  2. Gentle Posing: With safety always top of mind, I gently guide your baby into poses that highlight their features and express their tiny personalities.

  3. Lighting and Composition: I use a combination of natural light and studio lighting to create soft, dreamy images. Composition is key, and I strive to frame each shot beautifully.

The Editing Process

After the session, the magic continues in the editing room. This is where I enhance each image, adjusting lighting, color, and clarity to bring out the best in every photo. I also handle any retouching requests, always keeping the final result natural and true to your baby's appearance.
